The doors to our annual Spring Coffee Morning opened at 10 am to the smell of hot cross buns and coffee. We were blessed with fine weather so there were even stalls outside selling clothes and plants. With Easter just round the corner there were lots of lovely goodies to buy. A selection of knitted throws, chick egg warmers and a range of colorful knitted toys from the craft club.
A sumptuous selection of cakes made from our kitchens plus ‘nest’ cup cakes from the volunteers. There was an opportunity to win a big fluffy rabbit & Easter egg by guessing the rabbit’s name, a large jar of chocolate eggs by guessing how many eggs were in the jar and a beautiful homemade Easter cake.
” All these items were knitted in the craft club & in the residents own time, as well as being therapeutic knitting is a great social activity. My own mum who can’t see still knits and it’s a very calming experience for her” Angie- volunteer at the BBCH craft club.
Many thanks to all the residents, staff , trustees and volunteers for all your work. And thank you to all those who came along to support us. Today we raised £1389.05 for the Residents’ Welfare Fund.
