A Wonderful Space for Community and Connection
We are delighted to share that our brand-new Activities Centre is now complete and already making a huge difference to daily life in our home. Built on the site of our former croquet lawn, this purpose-designed space has given us a dedicated hub for events, creativity, and connection.
The centre allows us to host a wide variety of enriching activities in one welcoming, accessible location. From live entertainment and visiting performers to fascinating guest talks, there is always something happening to spark conversation and bring people together.
Our popular animal visits now have plenty of room too — giving residents the chance to enjoy safe, hands-on experiences with some wonderful furry and feathered friends.
Creativity has truly found a home here. All of our art and craft sessions now take place in the Activities Centre, giving residents the space and inspiration to paint, make, design, and express themselves. We also host plays, quizzes, and group events that fill the room with laughter, friendly competition, and shared memories.
Health and wellbeing remain a big focus in the new space. Exercise classes can now run comfortably with more room to move, helping residents stay active, mobile, and engaged.
Seasonal fayres and special celebrations have found a perfect home here as well, creating a lively atmosphere that residents, families, and staff can all enjoy together.
The centre is also home to our BBCH shop, where residents can browse and buy everyday essentials such as toiletries and other useful items. It’s a lovely way to support independence and provide a familiar, everyday experience right here at home.
One of the biggest benefits is that we no longer need to use our main lounges for larger activities. This means those areas remain calm and relaxing for residents who prefer a quieter environment, while the Activities Centre becomes a vibrant social setting just a short stroll away.
This new addition is already full of laughter, music, creativity, and companionship — exactly what we hoped it would be. We look forward to seeing many more special moments created in this wonderful new space.
