Sweet Treats in Our New Activities Centre

Over the last couple of months,, we were delighted to begin our very first baking sessions in our wonderful new Activities Centre — and what a fantastic success they have been already!

We set out long tables where Residents could gather together to mix the cake batter, chat, laugh, and enjoy the experience side by side. The new kitchen area and oven have already been put to very good use as we baked delicious cupcakes, traditional simnel cakes, and tasty cheese scones together.

We decorate the cupcakes on the long table set up, adding colourful icing and toppings. The whole home was filled with the lovely smell of freshly baked cakes and savoury cheese scones, creating such a warm and welcoming atmosphere for Residents, staff, and visitors alike.

Our new Activities Centre has quickly become a much-loved space. It is bright, airy, and filled with natural light, making it the perfect setting for group activities. One of the best things about the space is that we can comfortably accommodate everyone around the tables, including Residents who use wheelchairs, ensuring everybody can join in and enjoy the sessions together.

So far, our Residents have made simnel cakes, cupcakes, and cheese scones, and we are already looking forward to many more yummy treats being baked in the months ahead. These sessions are not only about baking delicious food, but also about bringing people together, creating memories, and enjoying time spent with friends.

We cannot wait to see what tasty creations come next!
