Friday was a truly special day at our care home as we came together to honour and celebrate Trudi Knight's incredible 35 years of dedicated service.
Dressed to Impress
The Ladies' Day theme was a guise to keep the celebration a surprise for Trudi! To make the day even more special, we encouraged everyone to dress up. Our Residents, staff, and volunteers donned beautiful dresses and hats, while the gentlemen looked dapper in their smart clothes.
All About The Atmosphere
We went all out with the decorations: fancy tablecloths, fanned serviettes, flower arrangements, and balloons adorned the tables, which were arranged into squares for a charming tea party atmosphere. The kitchen outdid themselves, organising a delightful afternoon tea displayed on beautiful china cake stands.
Greeting & Speeches
Upon arrival, Residents, staff, and Trustees were greeted with a glass of sparkling wine. Jan kicked off the event with a warm welcome, followed by a lovely speech from the care management team on behalf of themselves & the whole staff team, then some heartfelt words from our Trustee, Peter Appleton. The BBCH Singing Group then entertained us with two wonderful songs from the main lounge, creating a joyous and festive mood.
Special Visitors
After the singing, we enjoyed a scrumptious afternoon tea. The bell rang, signalling Juliette, the Deputy Lord Lieutenant, to say a few words, followed by Ros speaking on behalf of the Residents.
It was a day filled with laughter, love, and appreciation for Trudi's remarkable dedication. Her commitment and kindness have touched so many lives, and we are incredibly grateful for her service.
