Celebrating Pride Month

Residents and staff at Bernhard Baron Care Home recently came together for a meaningful and enjoyable day recognising Pride Month, celebrating the values of kindness, inclusion and respect that are at the heart of our community.

The day began with an engaging talk from our trainer, Kathy Berlanga, who spoke about equality and diversity and why these principles remain so important in everyday life. This was followed by a presentation exploring the history of Pride, providing an opportunity to reflect on how attitudes and society have changed over the years.

The morning sparked thoughtful conversations, with Residents and staff sharing their own experiences, memories and perspectives in a warm, open and respectful atmosphere. It was a wonderful opportunity to listen, learn from one another and celebrate the diversity that enriches our community.

In the afternoon, the focus turned to celebration as everyone enjoyed a selection of colourful mocktails and cocktails before settling in for live entertainment from The Jackettes. Their lively performance had Residents singing along, clapping and tapping their feet, bringing plenty of smiles and laughter to round off the day.

At Bernhard Baron Care Home, we believe that everyone deserves to feel valued, respected and welcome. Days like these provide an opportunity not only to celebrate Pride Month but also to reinforce the importance of creating an inclusive environment where every Resident, member of staff and visitor feels they belong.
