Celebrating Craftsmanship and Community

We are delighted to share that two of our Residents have contributed their remarkable skills to the upcoming Fabric of Faith exhibition at St Mary’s Church in Old Town, Eastbourne.

Over the past 12 years, these talented individuals have been dedicated to the restoration of ecclesiastical embroideries and the creation of new vestments. Among their work is the beautifully restored Mothers’ Union banner, which is proudly featured in the exhibition.

Fabric of Faith is a community celebration of church textiles — showcasing not just stunning displays and artefacts, but also offering guided talks that bring to life the intricate stories stitched into every piece. It’s a unique opportunity to delve into the heritage of sacred craftsmanship and to witness first hand the passion and care that goes into preserving these treasures.
