Celebrating Sri Lanka at Bernhard Baron Care Home

Today, our Residents enjoyed a wonderful Sri Lanka Day as part of our new cultural celebrations, which have been introduced to celebrate the many different cultures and faiths represented within our home.

The day began with a fascinating documentary, giving Residents a glimpse into Sri Lanka's stunning landscapes, wildlife, traditions and daily life.

At lunchtime, everyone enjoyed a delicious Sri Lankan-inspired lentil dahl starter, prepared by our talented catering team, offering a taste of the country's wonderful cuisine.

In the afternoon, Residents took part in a presentation about Sri Lanka, followed by a fun quiz . We then got creative by painting beautiful watercolour elephants, inspired by one of Sri Lanka's most iconic animals, before finishing the afternoon with a relaxing cup of traditional Ceylon tea.

A special thank you to our wonderful carer, Yolen, who proudly wore a beautiful traditional Sri Lankan Sari, sharing an important part of her heritage with Residents and colleagues. It added a truly authentic touch to the day.
