A Joyful Celebration: Recap of Our Spectacular Summer Fayre at Bernhard Baron Care Home
Saturday the 15th of July marked a momentous occasion at Bernhard Baron Care Home as we hosted our highly anticipated Summer Fayre. After a four-year hiatus, we were thrilled to welcome our local community once again. The event was an incredible success, bringing together our cherished residents, dedicated staff, enthusiastic volunteers, and delightful visitors. Roy Payton, a resident of our community, got the fayre going with some of his favourite guitar tunes and soulful singing, setting the stage for an unforgettable day. The Mayor of Polegate, Dan Dunbar opened the fayre with one of our residents, Elisabeth. The atmosphere was filled with joy, laughter, and a sense of togetherness that made it truly memorable. We are grateful for everyone who contributed to the festivities and are excited to share the highlights of this special day.
Community Engagement and Fundraising
The Summer Fayre not only provided an opportunity for our community to enjoy a delightful day out but also served as a means to support their well-being through the funds raised. We are thrilled to announce that, thanks to the generous contributions from attendees and the efforts of our dedicated team, we raised an impressive £2047.00 for the Resident's Welfare Fund. These funds will be utilised to enhance outings and activities.
Activities and Entertainment
Our Summer Fayre was brimming with an array of exciting activities and entertainment that captivated both the young and the elderly.
From craft stalls, the tombola and competitions to live music performances from the joyous Lewkulele, the infectious rhythms and melodies of this fun Ukulele band got people dancing and tapping their toes, There was something for everyone to enjoy. The residents' singing group also took the stage, showcasing their incredible talent. One of our residents showcased their musical prowess on the piano, enhancing the group's performance and leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
Delicious Food and Refreshments
No summer celebration is complete without delectable treats, and our Summer Fayre did not disappoint. Visitors indulged in a mouth-watering assortment of food and refreshments, including barbecued delights, homemade baked goods, refreshing beverages, and sweet treats. The tantalising aromas and delectable flavours added to the festive atmosphere, creating a truly enjoyable culinary experience.
