A Day of Fun, Food, and Festivities!

Updated: Jul 30

On Saturday, July 20th, our community was filled with the vibrant sights, sounds, and smells of our annual Summer Fayre. The event was a great success, bringing together Residents, friends, families, and members of our local community for a day filled with joy, laughter, and community spirit.

A Marketplace of Treasures

The fayre featured a delightful array of stalls, each offering unique and charming items. Visitors browsed through a collection of crafts, jewellery, hand-crafted gifts made by the Residents, bric-a-brac, pre-loved clothes, and books. The variety ensured there was something for everyone. One of the biggest hits of the day was the Tombola, where many walked away with fantastic prizes.

Culinary Delights

No summer fayre is complete without delicious food, and ours was no exception. The tantalising aroma of a sizzling BBQ drew many to the food stalls, where they enjoyed perfectly grilled burgers and hot dogs. For those with a sweet tooth, the classic combination of Strawberries & Cream offered a refreshing treat, while an array of delightful Coffee/Tea & Cakes provided the perfect accompaniment to a relaxing afternoon in the sun.

Entertainment Galore

Our Summer Fayre wasn’t just about shopping and eating; it was also packed with entertainment that kept everyone smiling and engaged throughout the day. On the Croquet Lawn, visitors had the wonderful opportunity to Meet and Greet with Pet Pals Therapy.

They brought along an adorable array of animals, including piglets, ferrets, guinea pigs, and rabbits. These friendly animals brought immense joy to the fayre.

The lively and colourful performance by the Ragged Phoenix Morris Dancers added a traditional flair to the festivities. Their energetic dance routines captivated audiences of all ages. Some of our guests and staff even had the chance to learn a few dance steps from the Ragged Phoenix themselves, making it a very interactive and memorable experience.

Over in the Rose Garden, the soothing sounds of Rat Pack music filled the air, courtesy of the talented Steve Dunnett. His performance transported everyone back in time, creating a nostalgic and enchanting atmosphere.

A Heartfelt Thank You

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who attended, volunteered and contributed to the success of our Summer Fayre. Your participation and generosity helped us raise an impressive £1,779 for the Residents' Welfare Fund. These funds will go towards organising outings and activities that enhance the quality of life for our Residents, bringing joy and enrichment to their daily lives.

Thank you once again to our local community for your support and for making this year’s Summer Fayre a memorable event. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!
