We recently enjoyed a truly lovely outing with our residents to the beautiful gardens at St Wilfrid’s Hospice in Eastbourne.

The hospice gardens are a calm and thoughtfully designed space, made up of several individual garden areas, all carefully maintained by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers. These peaceful surroundings are created not only for beauty, but to offer comfort and reflection for patients, families, and visitors alike.
One of the highlights of our visit was the touching stone display within the garden. The “Precious Pebbles” installation features hundreds of decorated stones, each one representing a memory, message, or moment that matters to someone in the community. Arranged in the shape of a flower, it was a powerful reminder of connection, love, and shared stories.
Our residents really enjoyed taking their time to walk around, soak in the peaceful atmosphere, and reflect on the meaningful displays. The gardens truly offer a sense of tranquillity and togetherness.
After our stroll, we finished the visit with a stop at the hospice café, where we enjoyed some refreshments.
A simple trip, but one filled with warmth, reflection, and connection.
