A trip to Brighton City Airport

One of our recent outings took us to Brighton City Airport, also known as Shoreham Airport.
A Journey Through History
The Main Terminal Building, a striking Art Deco masterpiece dating back to 1936, welcomed us with its timeless architecture. This Grade II listed building was the perfect setting for our visit, offering a glimpse into the past while surrounded by the energy of the present. Our Residents enjoyed exploring the building’s historical features and learning about its role in aviation history.
Planes, Art, and Refreshments
As part of our visit, we watched planes take off and land while enjoying refreshments in the airport café. The dynamic backdrop of the airfield created a unique and memorable experience.
The Residents visited the Whispering Gallery to view "Perspectives People Places", an exhibition by members of the Adur Art Collective. The display featured thought-provoking works by David King, Jen Green, Gemma Hawkes, Karin Hay White, and Kim Adele Fuller, offering a diverse range of artistic interpretations.
No outing is complete without some delightful refreshments. Our Residents enjoyed a selection of pastries and beverages at the airport's Hummingbird restaurant..
