This week, we came together to mark 80 years since V E Day with a series of memorable events.
Our commemorations began over the Bank Holiday weekend with our popular pop-up pub in the Main Lounge—Residents enjoyed their favourite tipple and shared stories.
We joined the Nation in paying tribute, watching the National Service on the big screen before a fun-filled pub sing-along, games and quiz in the lounge.
As part of our celebrations, we were also delighted to mark a very special occasion—on of our Residents celebrated her 90th birthday.
At noon today, we held a poignant two-minute silence followed by lunch and each Resident receiving a personalised VE Day newspaper, complete with their own childhood memories of the war and VE Day.
We then gathered in the Rose Garden for Afternoon Tea in the sunshine, before ending the day with beautiful live entertainment by classical singer Rosie.
